Be A Loser And Love It!

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

As seen on the Biggest Loser television show, practically everyone has their own explanation for why they have gained weight. just like on the Biggest Loser. Weight gain can result from medical conditions, like various types of thyroid problems, or from a broad range of emotional issues like depression.

Even without increased intake, some vital prescriptions can provoke major gains in body weight. When people have too much stress like family problems or academic pressures they sometimes eat more and thus become bigger.

For some people, being popular actually becomes a serious problem: other people always want them to go eat with them, causing them to eat too much unhealthy food.No matter why you’ve put on the pounds, the thing to think about now is how to lose weight fast.Although overeating was never a problem for me, I never was skinny as a child: I was obese.

Finally, when I was seventeen, I found out that I had a thyroid problem that was the underlying factor for my weight. Vividly illustrating the problems associated with being overweight is one thing the television show did to help me.

Even thought the people on the show became overweight through different circumstances, they had to come to grips with the need to lose weight just like I had to. Seeing how much better people felt when they reached their goals inspired me to find new ways to exercise and to develop a more active lifestyle.

It’s amazing how watching TV can help make a loser out of someone like me!

Take note of the happiness enjoyed by the losers on television, then get to work and become a loser yourself!

How Does the Raw Food Diet Work and is it Right For Me?

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

There is a brand new and exciting diet sweeping across America – well, it is actually now all over the world!

Of course I am talking about “the raw food diet”. People are no longer asking how does the raw food diet work, but simply asking how exactly they can use it too, and what the “rules” are!

The main principle of the diet is pretty simple: you should focus on eating UNCOOKED and  nutritious foods. The food we eat always loses some of its nutrients when we cook or boil it. Simply heating, cooking, and boiling food will lose i a lot of nutritional value. So if you eat everything raw you will get all the nturients and this is much better for you obviously.

The main staples of the diet are fresh fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds. You can also consume natural fruit juices, unpasteurized milk, herbal tea, and of course just water. And any alcohol should be avoided.

The diet certainly works – if you use it as a change in lifestyle and try and adopt its principles for the long term. If you only do it seriously for a week or 2 then fall back to old eating patterns then you will of course put the weight back on.

It’s main criticism is that as you don’t eat meats you miss out on some vital nutrients. For example, if you take it literally and exclude all meats, egg, and fish from your diet then you will be seriously short of calcium, protein, and iron.

So does the raw food diet work for anyone? Well, it is perhaps not the best diet to do for a long period of time, but if you combine its principles with healthy meats such as turkey and chicken, and eat  fish then you can live a healthy balanced life and lose weight while also improving your health and energy levels.

Alternatively if you wish to remain vegetarian then it is important that you take extra vitamins to make up for those lacking in your diet – supplements such as vitamin B12, zinc, chromium, and copper in particular may be required.
