Tips For Losing The Tummy Fat

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

If you are paying attention, we are bombarded with all types of diet offers promising massive, natural weight loss. The south beach diet, low carb diet, atkins diet, juice diet and many other diet programs are advertised all over the internet and tv. Due to the large amounts of diet programs out there, it can be a confusing task when trying to determine which diet program is right for you. One goal that a lot of overweight people have in common is the goal of losing that large belly. Listed within this article are a few strategies that will burn off a lot of belly fat if you apply them.

If you expect to lose that belly fat, you must pay close attention to the amount of calories you take in each day. This is truly a burdensome task, but it is mandatory if you desire to lose fat around your stomach. The reason being that you want to burn off more calories than what you take in. If your calorie intake is large, than you will just be adding pounds instead of losing pounds. Therefore, it is critical for you to monitor your calorie intake.

Next, you have to focus on your exercising regimen. This is one of the most important parts to losing that stubborn fat around your tummy. A lot of individuals focus entirely on dieting instead of exercising. But both are equally important. You will not get the sleak body you deserve if you just focus on dieting. Therefore, in order to get rid of that belly fat, you have to implement some fast paced cardio aerobics in order to build up your metabolism. The cardio workouts will supply you with the needed energy to burn off more fat. The more intense the exercise, the more fat that you will be able to burn off.

In addition to your cardio workouts, you must include some abdominal muscle building into your workout plan as well. Simple stomach crunches and sit ups can do a great job when it comes to toning your abs. You can also use certain abdominal workout machines to help you workout your ab muscles in a proper fashion. One of the best ab machines in my opinion is the Abs Rocket training machine. This particular machine provides that back support that is needed in order to perform the perfect sit up and ab crunch in a safe manner. Out of all the abdominal workout machines out there, this particular machine also works all the core abdominal muscles.

Methods for Easy Weight Loss

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

It seems that everyone is searching for methods of easy weight loss. Many would claim that it doesn’t exist. If you know what you’re doing, many people would say that it’s not that hard. To me the the hardest part might be change. The excuse that is given most often for not losing weight is time. We feel as though there just isn’t enough time in the day to workout and eat a healthy diet.

Don’t make it too difficult at first, begin by simply choosing healthier foods and try to get some form of exercise everyday. It’s not easy to change your bad habits. Starting slowly can be a great way to help you change those habits faster. Try these ideas for easy weight loss to get you started.

Make a Commitment to Be Active Everyday

A simple method to achieve easy weight loss is to make an effort to get as much activity into your day as you can. Try to be active for at least a half an hour each day. A workout can be anything that involves exercise it doesn’t have to be structured. There are many ways to do this, some are easy to implement, while others might require a little thought.

1. A simple way to get started and a great way to get regular exercise is simply to walk. For many, walking 10,000 steps a day and eating healthy, can be enough to maintain a healthy weight. A great way to keep track is by using a pedometer.

2. Park further away when you go to the store, so you can get a little extra exercise. You could probably save more time by not looking for a parking spot.

3. Go on a walk with your dog. If you haven’t made time to exercise on a given day, take your dog for a walk. Not only will you be getting your exercise, but your dog will enjoy it as well.

4. Take a bike ride with your kids. Because many of us are all so busy, we get less and less quality time to spend with our families. This allows you to get the best of both worlds, a little exercise and time with your family.

5. Take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator. If you are in a tall building and cannot climb the entire way, then just get off a couple of floors early and walk the rest. You can also use this method to track your progress. By getting off at a lower level, let’s say every week for example, you could measure you improvement.

6. Play sports, for example tennis, basketball, or softball. This should be an easy one since most of us enjoy sports anyway. Try to get a few people together to play a game. Several sports you can even play on your own.

7. Walk around when you are on the phone at home. Many of us already do this and we don’t even realize it.

8. Do a few simple exercises during television commercials. You aren’t watching most of them anyway. Any type of exercise that causes your heart rate up can help you to lose weight.

9. Another good way to get a little exercise is yard work. You will be achieving two things at once.

Once you start to lose weight, you won’t have to do as much exercise to lose more. The key is to get enough exercise to keep it from coming back.

Easy Weight Loss is All About Making Smart Choices

A healthy diet is also an important ingredient to easy weight loss. Simply changing a few bad habits and starting to make better decisions about what you are eating can make a big difference.

Here are some simple tips to get you started:

1. Drinking water helps reduce water retention caused by sodium and helps your body metabolize stored fat into energy. It can also help to suppress appetite.

2. There are seven calories in 1 gram of alcohol. All of these calories are empty calories. The more alcohol you drink the more fat you are putting into your body because alcohol doesn’t have any nutrients. Only drink in moderation if you are going to drink alcohol.

3. Cutting out junk food such as candy, cookies, and chips can be the first stage of making healthier food choices. These foods may taste good, but there are many healthier alternatives taste just as good or better.

If you are just beginning, don’t be concerned with how much you are doing; just try to be active and eat better each day. It could take some time for you to get to a point where you can get the amount of exercise needed to lose fat. You’ll see that realizing easy weight loss is not as hard as it seems. Getting both the mental and physical processes started is the idea.

What’s a Cookie Diet Anyway?

Friday, August 7th, 2009

The original Cookie Diet was created in 1975 by Dr. Sanford Siegal – a renowned physican and weight-loss expert.  Some think that these are fad diets – especially when they hear the name.  I mean after all, how can you lose weight eating cookies and is that all you eat?  When we heard that more than 200 doctors recommend this program to their patients, we thought we’d better take a look.

You can eat these cookies as part of the actual Cookie Diet OR you can supplement your own program with them as an appetite suppresant.  This is the method we like as the actual Cookie Diet is extremely low in calories and it’s very restrictive.  The cookies contain an amino acid mixture which will help you satisfy hunger without drugs and – let’s face it – if this can help us stick to our diet without “cheating”, let’s go for it!  Dr. Siegal also offers hunger-controlling diet shakes as well.

A few other considerations.

There are many cookie diets out there.  They all emulate Dr. Siegal’s origianl so don’t be fooled.  Dr. Siegal has been featured in countless news mediums including the New York Times, Forbes, ABC, CNN and many more.  He personally mixes every batch of these cookies to keep his formula safe.  The cookies are really good and absolutely will help you stay on plan.

The cookies are offered in a variety of flavors:  oatmeal raisin, chocolate, blueberry, banana and coconut.  They come in one size only which is a box of 42 cookies for $59.00 (plus s&h unless you order 4 or more and then shipping is free worldwide).  That comes to 1.40 per cookie.  That seems high but I think it’s worth it.  I’d much rather eat these cookies than take that dumb Acai stuff.  I use it in conjunction with my Weight Watchers plan and it works really well.

Calorie Shifting – Getting Started With Calorie Shifting

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

Calorie Shifting – Here are a few things that you will need to know, before you embark on your calorie shifting diet plan.

Mindset- The proper mindset is a vital component in the success of any endeavor, and that certainly includes fat loss. It’s a good idea to spend a little time thinking of how you will benefit from a good weight loss plan. Look at yourself in the mirror and imagine the image that you would like to see looking back at you. Write down your fat loss goals on a small piece of paper and tape it up where you will see it every morning. Read it every morning and motivate yourself to have a good fat loss day.

The calorie shifting cycle is only 11 days, much shorter than with most diet plans, but even that can seem a long time when those around you are enjoying great food without restrictions. So fortifying yourself with a positive mindset is a good idea.

Support- Talk to your family, friends, and workmates. Explain to them that you want to lose weight and ask for their support. Request that they refrain from tempting you, or teasing you with the classic “aw, just one won’t hurt you” ploy. Tell them that you will get a break from your regimen in just 11 days, and then you can join them and eat whatever you want.

Preparation- Look over the daily menu for your upcoming calorie shifting diet cycle. If you are allergic to or intolerant of any foods, make sure that they are not on it. Then write a grocery list and go to the supermarket!

Try to schedule the menu items which are easy to prepare for the times when you can’t cook, as you can eat them in any order during the day. For example, you can take fruit, nuts, bread, etc. to work. If you are lucky enough to have a microwave and refrigerator available at your job, the list of items that you can eat at work is much larger. For example, these days you can get bacon which can be prepared in the microwave at 10 seconds per slice. (I have tried them, and they are very good, but a little expensive.)

Perspective- The calorie shifting fat loss method does not require exercise, but I encourage you to do some cardio and resistance exercise each week, or be active in some way. It’s good for your heart. Besides, no matter how thin you become, you will not look that great in your swimsuit without good muscle tone.

If you just need to drop a few pounds to look better for the summer, you may only need one or two calorie shifting diet cycles. If you are beginning a major weight loss project, calorie shifting could be a way of getting a fast start, or you can use it if you are on a “plateau”. Don’t think of this fat loss method as the “diet to end all diets:  just use it as another tool in your weight loss arsenal. Visit this site for more information on calorie shifting diet plans.

Calorie Shifting – The Calorie Shifting Alternative

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

So what is “calorie shifting“?

Calorie shifting is a method of fat loss which has gained a lot of popularity in recent years. It is based on the premise that the metabolism can be “fooled” by eating from different food groups in a certain pattern. One meal may consist of carbohydrates exclusively, the next may provide only protein and fat.

Surely this is healthier than any system that excludes a food group almost completely, like the Atkins Diet. Though you may exclude carbohydrates in one meal and fat in the next, you still get a good overall balance.

Supporters of the calorie shifting method claim that this dietary rotation forces the body to burn fat a faster rate than conventional diets. On the other hand, the conventional diet folks say that you can’t burn more than two and a half pounds of fat per week, and that if you lose more weight than that, you are burning lean muscle tissue. But there is no doubt that the calorie shifting method has some very alluring features.

  • You can dine on foods, in quantity, which you would never dream of with a conventional fat loss system. For example, one menu may consist of ham slices and bacon strips.
  • Don’t overstuff, just eat until you are satisfied. Common sense rules.
  • The faster rate of burning fat is appealing if you have an impending event, like summer coming, or if you need to fit into that wedding gown that you’ve been eyeing.
  • Calorie shifting is a natural fat loss method that does not require pills or supplements.
  • The biggie to me: You don’t have to count or measure calories, grams, or anything.
  • After each dieting cycle you get a break for a few days and you can eat normally.

The down side:

  • Though the regimen has a degree of versatility in some ways, it is very rigid in others. It is necessary to eat a specified number of meals each day, and snacks are not included in the plan.
  • It does take a certain amount of planning in order to have the right foods on hand for the next few days.
  • In some occupations, it may be hard to fit into the workday.
  • It may be very difficult to reconcile your diet plan meals to social events. However, you should be able to work that out by scheduling your diet cycle so that your cheat days fall on a weekend.

One more point that I would like to make is that, though it may be possible to lose weight quickly without additional exercise, it is not recommended. Exercise is necessary for good heart health, and besides, no matter how thin you become, you’re not going to look that great in your swimsuit if you don’t have good muscle tone!

In summary, calorie shifting, like any other fat loss plan, has it’s ups and downs. Each person has to make up their own mind as to what is best for themselves.

Not Another Tip To Lose Weight Please

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

A lot of us continue to struggle with this defeating battle against fat. It doesn’t matter how much we try we still don’t lose the extra weight. For some it is genetic. They are fat by hereditary reasons. Some people seem to have a different gene .They can eat anything and everything without putting on weight.

One should strive to be lean and thin since many health problems are directly related to weight. How can you eliminate these additional calories? Should someone restrict their consumption of food and follow a diet? Does this actually help us? Some people can’t stay on a diet and just can’t say no to the desire to eat.

No matter what lose weight system they start, they cant keep the weight off, as they get back to their old eating habits as soon as the diet schedule is over. For our body to stay healthy, it is necessary that we are consistent in our customs. Dieting should not be just a one off attempt to lose weight. You should do regular exercise in a natural manner to lose fat that is likely to accumulate as a result of the food you eat.

If you have a tendency to put on weight, regulate your diet in such a way that you get adequate variety and all the necessary minerals, proteins and vitamins for building up body tissue. One could also try out green tea by having about five cups of green tea instead of the normal tea that you have regularly. Some advise that drinking five cups of green tea every day will burn up to 80 calories.

If you lose 70-80 calories a day, you could shed a pound of fat in about a month and a half.A pound of fat is equivalent to some 3500 calories. There are many suggestions regarding your habits for loosing weight. It is essential to be regular in the habits you have if want to really see some effect. Adopt dieting as a long-term lifestyle, not a short-term solution where you change the way you eat for brief period and then return to your former habits.

The Gauranteed Way To Burn Fat

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

I once asked a gym instructor at my local gym what’s the fastest way to burn fat in my body, he said “go on the treadmill”. Well i did hit the treadmill, but it took longer than usual to burn the fat. He failed to tell me that by combining such cardio exercise with strength building exercise for muscle building, that i would burn fat faster. This case isn’t new. People have often been mislead to think cardio on its own is the fastest way to burn fat. However, studies have shown that people who build muscles from strenth exercise burn fat faster even while at rest. This is because muscles increases metabolic rate thus burning fat.The good part is that more people today more informed than before and are doing more strength building exercise.

According to a study by the Fitness Products Council and Sporting Goods Manufacturers, the number of people lifting free weights has increased 76 percent in the past decade. Right now, weight lifting is among the most popular sports in North America. This change is for the best because cardiovascular activity combined with weight training will result in much more effective fat loss. Cardiovascular exercises will raise muscle metabolism during the activity and for a short time after the exercise session.

Weight lifting exercises, on the other hand, will raise your muscle metabolism during the exercise session, and for a long time after the exercise session. Some high intensity trainers have even seen their metabolism rise for several days following their training session.
Performing adequate weight training exercises should limit your repetitions anywhere from 1 to 20 (more or less). Such resistance on muscles will make their tissue leaner and stronger. The muscle development will take place during the rest period following the resistance training. Therefore sufficient rest periods are essential.

Its imperative to understand what happens behind the scenes of your muscle during your muscle building activity. The first thing that happens is that your muscle does some adjusting. On a microscopic level the tissues separates from the stress, while in this stress it recuperates to become stronger to enable it support the extra stress. Speaking about recuperation, it take as long as a day or two for this recuperation to occur just after your workout.

During the recuperation period, the muscle metabolism is still burning energy, and that’s when it’s time to perform cardiovascular activities. Carrying out high repetitions of the same movement will tire the body on a different basis. Combining low repetition exercises (weight lifting) with high repetition cardiovascular exercise will stress muscles in a complementary way to increase the total fat burning effect.

If in doubt wether muscle building workouts don’t burn fat, then take a look at sports men and women who perform high short intense energy busting sports. Check out their body and see how low in fat they carry. Try doing push up or any muscle workout and see if your heart doesn’t race.

The point is to combine a weight lifting routine with a good cardiovascular workout to increase muscle metabolism and total fat burning ratio.

We are all humans and sometimes we might want to treat ourselves to a dessert or a burger, with Fat binder supplements, you can be assured to that 28% of the fat content would be binded and prevented from being  absorbed into your body. This is exactly what Proactol fat binder does. It’s natural herbs not only binds fats molecules but also reduces your body cholesterol level.

Resveratrol and Weight Loss

Drink To Your Health

Resveratrol and Weight Loss

Resveratrol Antioxidants and Weight Loss: A Good Pairing? The golden rule in weight loss is pretty straightforward: take in fewer calories than you expend in exercise. However, as any dieter will tell you, it’s far from easy. Americans spend billions of dollars a year on weight loss supplements, exercise programs and other diet aids—and still we can’t seem to win the battle of the bulge—even when we get desperate enough to try risky surgery or fad diets.Recently a new product has come to light that may help people trying to lose weight stay on the healthy end of the spectrum: Resveratrol Select, which is unlike many diet supplements in that it uses a combination of natural and herbal ingredients designed to help the body stay healthy while losing weight. How? By mimicking certain aspects of the Mediterranean diet.Studies have shown that part of America’s war with weight lies in the uniquely modern American combination of stressful lifestyle and fast-food consumption, and that the Mediterranean diet and lifestyle seem to be more conducive to healthier weight levels and longevity. In fact, much as been made on the news in recent months of the purported “French Paradox,” (how the French eat a high-fat diet, enjoy rich desserts, drink wine and still have better cardiovascular health than the rest of us). One of the biggest differences between the American and French diet seems to be the wine consumption, and red wine (a staple on most Mediterranean tables) contains one of nature’s most powerful antioxidants, resveratrol, which is a key ingredient in Resveratrol Select. In addition to wine, resveratrol is also found in grape skins, blueberries, cranberries and other plants, and recent animal and in vitro studies indicate that it can have a positive effect on helping to maintain healthy cholesterol levels, supporting insulin health and optimizing metabolic and immune pathways that protect cells and improve mitochondrial function. * And one capsule of Resveratrol Select includes as much resveratrol as 200 glasses of wine—without the added calories that alcohol can add to the waistline. But consuming resveratrol alone isn’t enough to help with weight loss—so the manufacturers of Resveratrol Select also added a different type of antioxidant, Green Tea Extract (EGCG), which could make a big difference. Over time, green tea consumption helps increase metabolism, burn fat and reduce fat storage due to its caffeine and L-theanin content, which can be pivotal in helping to maintain energy for exercise. *Resveratrol Select combines these two powerful antioxidants with yet another energy boosting ingredient, Chromium, a niacin-based mineral that plays an important role in how the body uses insulin to burn sugars, carbohydrates, fats, and proteins for energy.*Although relatively new to the market, Resveratrol Select seems to be making a big splash, and many people are taking advantage of the free trial offer to see how well the product works for them. The trial offer also includes two bonus tools to help with weight loss: an e-book with over 70 weight loss tips, and a weight loss visualization audio.Of course, consuming fewer calories while burning more is the most efficient form of weight loss, and it’s always a good idea to inform your doctor before taking a weight loss supplement, but this new combination herbal supplement is worth a look for those concerned about maintaining good health while losing weight. How To Burn More Body Fat

Friday, May 1st, 2009

If you’ve ever started a new exercise or fitness routine, you were probably very pleased with the results you got in the beginning. The first week or two, or maybe even the first month, showed excellent progress slimming and trimming, and burning body fat.

If you’ve stuck with that exercise routine though, you’ve probably reached a point where it seems like you’re stuck. Even though you still have more body fat to burn, and weight to lose, you can’t seem to make good progress much further. Why is that? It’s because your body is smarter than you might realize.

You see, the human body adapts amazingly well to pretty much anything you force it to endure. So if it’s not used to regular exercise, and you start forcing it to do that, then it will work extra hard to get itself prepared to handle that new routine. But it learns from what you teach it. So after a while the body gets used to the extra physical activity you’re forcing it to do, and it becomes much more efficient at doing it. As it becomes more efficient, it burns less fat to create the energy needed to do that exercise.

To keep your body burning the most fat, you actually have to trick it. You can’t let it get used to a set physical routine. Instead, mix things up a bit. This is what’s known as interval training. And all you have to do is mix up the pace at which you’re doing your exercises and other physical activities.

If you normally walk a mile each day, then after awhile your body gets used to this. To keep this from happening, simply change the pace at which you walk. Walk normally for maybe five or 10 minutes, then walk really fast for 30 to 60 seconds. The same applies to jogging. Run it your normal pace for a while, then suddenly sprint as fast as you can. Try to do these in a random manner, so your body is not able to predict when you need the spurts of energy and when you don’t. The result will be that your body will continuously be in a ready mode because it doesn’t know when you will need large bursts of energy. And when you can get your body into this ready mode, it continues to burn fat quickly and regularly.

Weight Loss Metabolism – Learn What Your Body Is Telling You!

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

Weight loss metabolism is dependent on each other in so many ways.  You simply cannot lose weight without speeding up your metabolism.  Of course many of you are probably wondering how you can increase your metabolism to reap the weight loss benefits.  Well, it is easier for some than others.  You see, your metabolism changes throughout your life.

It starts fast, and gets slower over time.  This is dependent on a number of different factors including your height, weight, sex, and age.  For obese people, it is very difficult to speed up their metabolism, hence they become more overweight.  This also goes for slimmer people who sometimes want to slow down their metabolism, as they simply cannot put on weight.

Your metabolism is controlled by a gland called the thyroid.  Some people have thyroid problems, which can then increase or decrease their metabolism to the point in which they are suddenly losing, or gaining weight.  It is quite evident of how weight loss metabolism go hand in hand.

There are many things that can affect your metabolism speed.  However, staying fit is your best bet on maintaining a healthy metabolism.  Exercise has been said to increase your metabolism, and this is why overweight people tend to lose weight quicker than people at average weights.  Another way to speed up your metabolism is to drink plenty of water.  Also, getting your body’s vitamin levels up is also a good method.

Weight loss metabolism is an important thing to know about.  If you are concerned about your metabolism rates then you should consult a physician to get an idea of where your metabolism is at.  If you are experiencing rapid weight loss or gain, you really should go and seek medical help as you could be experiencing an over active, or under active thyroid gland.  Some obese people suffer from an under active thyroid which has caused the obesity.  In most cases it can be treated with radiation, or pills, but recognizing that you have a problem is your first necessity.

So if you are having a hard time losing weight consider trying to speed up your weight loss metabolism. There are many methods out there, and some work, but others do not.  There are many pills out there that claim they will increase your metabolism, but if you are unsure, talk to the pharmacist.  You could consider a herbal method to increase your metabolism as well.  There are other ways of doing it as well such as regular exercise routines.

Weight loss metabolism is an important factor in your body’s overall health so be sure to exercise, drink plenty of water.  You can also try other methods like detox, and herbal supplements.  There is a new super food on the market called the Acai berry, and it is also said to increase metabolism, and aid in weight loss.  You could give that a try to see if it has any benefits to your abilities to lose weight.  Diets are very hard, and often fail.  However, increasing your metabolism to lose weight is based on scientific fact.
