Two Steps Towards 6 Pack Abs

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

First off, I want to mention that, for most people, getting six pack abs is not an easy task. It is quite possible but you need dedication! Below is a general 2-step guide that, if followed religiously for 3 months, will produce results. Do not forget about whey protein supplements

Step 1: Nutrition

This is the single most important part of the puzzle, hands down. You can have the most impressive set of abs, but if they're covered with a layer of fat, you won't see them! Break up your day with 5 or 6 mini-meals because this jump starts your metabolism. And stop eating the food that is preventing results: white bread, loads of pasta, soda, candy, fast food, hydrogenated oils, sugars and fructose corn syrup.

Instead, replace them with foods that will help you reach your goal: oatmeal, olive oil, whole grain breads, fruits, vegetables, nuts, eggs, natural peanut butter, chicken, fish, protein and water. Be realistic- you'll slip here and there, but make a conscious effort to radically improve your eating habits because getting a six pack will be impossible if you don't. You can add liquid supplements

Step 2: Exercise

You need to concern yourself with 3 different exercises: cardio, weightlifting and ab exercises. And aim to workout 3- 4 times a week.

The cardio you do can be anything: walking, running, biking, swimming….whichever cardio you don't mind doing so that you'll stick with it. Aim for 30-45 minutes, a minimum of 2 times a week.

Weightlifting is important because 3 pounds of added muscle burns as many calories as a 1 mile jog…and this is while you're just sitting around! Aim for 30-45 minutes, a minimum of 2 times a week. If you're confused as to what exercises to do for each body part, check out out the following website. It features professional bodybuilders, but the information is great and can be used by anyone.

The last exercise you need to incorporate into your workout is ab exercises. Aim to work your abs a minimum of 3 times a week. There are a ton of different ab exercises you can do so try to find 3 or so that you enjoy doing so you can mix it up.

Tip: mix up your workout routine every 2 weeks to keep your body guessing and changing. Add or take away different weight or ab exercises, or at the very least, vary the weight, reps or form of cardio you do. Also add protein powder supplements

Well, there you have it. Follow the above for 3 months religiously, and while results will vary from person to person, you will experience improvement.

It will take dedication on your part, but imagine the feeling you'll get when you look in the mirror and like what you see.

Get A Flat Belly Fast

Sunday, March 8th, 2009

I have struggled with my weight ever since I stopped regular competitive sport. The reduced activity and aging effects meant my waistline grew by over six inches in less than twelve months.  I literally became a fat bloke over night.  That was ten years ago, and ever since my weight has fluctuated up and down as I’ve gone through fanatical fitness phases and then back to incredibly lazy periods, it’s easy to get drawn in to the latter as time goes by!

I have over the years perfected my own program for getting back into shape quickly, I literally lose most of my excess fat and build muscle in only a few weeks.  So how do I go about burning stomach fat?

The first thing that has to change is my diet.  I absolutely love junk food and take-aways. Just like most people, I simply love the things that are bad for me; beer and fries to name jjust a couple.  Once I am on a quest for a flat stomach these are all removed from my diet immediately.I replace them with a balanced diet of natural meals, avoiding as far as possible processed foods. What is important is that I don't have to starve myself to lose weight and I don't diet in the conventional sense.  I just focus on eating the right things in moderation, being careful to ensure that my daily calorie intake is less than the number of calories I burn each day.  Lots of fruit, vegetables, fish and lean meats.

My weekly program also includes regular exercise. Two or three aerobic workouts every week, all running.  I find running burns more calories than most other exercises, you can keep your fancy exercise machines, stick to basics. The last element of my program is weight training, I do just one session per week!  I work all of my main muscle groups with heavy weight, low repetition lifts targeted to stimulate maximum muscle growth (including my abdominals).  I then allow the muscles a full week to recover and grow stronger, something most amateurs fail to do.

If you’d like to read in more detail about the exact program I follow, you can read more at Burn Stomach Fat.

Great Tips On Burning Stomach Fat

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

Most people think that all they need to do to get a set of 6 pack abs is do hundreds of sit ups every day and they will automatically appear!  I have some bad news, that simply is not going to happen! Before you can get a flat toned six pack you must lose your belly fat .

When trying to attain a flat ripped stomach the most important thing you need to do is modify your diet.  Cut out the junk food, alcohol and processed foods right away.  Replace them with natural unprocessed foods and eat a balanced diet.  Try and limit your daily calorie intake to below the number of calories you burn on a daily basis. There really is no need to starve yourself of food!  Just eat slightly less and burn more, and concentrate on lots of natural products, such as fruit, veg, fresh pasta and lean meats.

To burn more calories try and do some cardio exercise at least two times a week, and on top of that, just once a week, do a high intensity weight training workout.  Your work out should concentrate on lifting heavy weights, but with fewer repetitions than you would normally do.Concentrate on targeting your major muscle groups, work the largest muscles first and then the smallest.  Only use exercises to target your abs that involve overloading them, which means using weights to really work your abdominal muscles.

Finally don’t over train your muscles or you won’t see any development in them.  Over training when lifting heavy weights is a common mistake a lot of people make.  Contrary to what a lot of fitness instructors would have you believe, you only need to lift once a week and not every other day.  When you stress your muscles, they need time to recover and grow stronger.

Burning Your Stomach Fat Made Easy

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

So you've accumulated a little too much fat around your waist in the last few years, and now you want to lose it and replace it with a set of ripped abs?  Well that’s a pretty sensible decision for a number of reasons.  Medical evidence clearly shows more and more, that if you are carrying excess weight around your belly, it is bad for your longer term health and the likelihood of you developing serious problems is greatly increased.  Secondly, stronger stomach muscles help to support the rest of your body, and will therefore make you a lot less prone to back problems.

Now you’ve made the decision to lose your excess weight, what really is the best way to get a six pack quickly?  Well it’s probably not the way you’d probably imagine.  Most people trying to get a set of flat 6 pack abs go on a crash diet and do loads of sit ups or crunches.  Wrong! You won't get your dream ripped stomach doing this.Starving your body serves only to slow down your metabolic rate and as a result you'll burn less fat.And crunches will not get you defined abs.

What you should do is modify your diet so that it is more balanced and full of natural products rather than processed foods. Don't starve yourself, that's not sustainable, just make sure you burn more calories than you take in each day. Take up regular cardio exercise in parallel to burn more calories and you’ll see your body fat disappear quicker.

To define your abs, you need to work out with heavy weights once a week, targeting all your main muscle groups and not just your abdominals.  To learn more about improving your diet, and to discover exactly which exercises to target your abs with, visit burn stomach fat now and get yourself a washboard stomach, and probably a longer life!

What Are the Best Six Pack Abs Workouts?

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

If you are looking for the best six pack abs workout, then look no further because we are giving you a rundown of the best fitness techniques to get to your goal easily and successfully. First thing on your workout sheet must target the elimination of fat.  You have to shed the fat all around your stomach for your abdomen muscles to show. Start with the cardiovascular exercises. Running, walking, climbing, cross training, basketball, volleyball, cycling and swimming are some of the best exercises for loosening and eventually eliminating the fat over the long term.  Those are good lifetime exercises to enjoy.

You have better chances of showing off a better figure when you learn about squeezing off the fat. It is another important six pack abs workout. To do it right, lie on the floor on your back, put your palms below your belly then lift your upper body while lifting your belly towards your face. Feel your belly fat getting squeezed. In as short as two weeks, you will feel the fat getting loose and then you can follow it up with weight training to build up muscles.

When you’re planning for a six pack abs workout, you can’t go wrong with crunches, sit-ups and leg lifts. Include these in your total body workout to boost your metabolism further. Increase resistance as you progress so your muscles will have enough activity to process. You can also alternate v-ups, static hold and side statics to your program. Training your oblique muscles is also important to further strengthen your stomach. Remember that the stronger your stomach muscles get the easier it is to lose excess fat and sculpt it. Since it is part of the involuntary muscle group it needs special attention.  Do not focus solely on ab exercises as you need a totally fit body with very little fat to reveal a sexy set of six pack abs.
